Should I Tip the Reception Planner at the Hotel?

I am having my recpetion at a hotel and naturally they have hired a representative to help with all of the details. Obviously the hotel is already paying her. Do I need to give her a tip as well? And if so, how much?

  • It depends, how much planning has she done with you and how long have you been working with her?  Do you see her having to do a lot of extra work on your wedding day, setting up place cards, moving gifts, helping you with everything? In that case, yes you should tip her.  I plan on tipping the coordinator that is at my wedding venue.
  • We will have been working with her for about three months. I probably contact her a few times a month. She does plan on being there for set up and the beginning of the reception. How much do you plan to tip your coordinator?

I plan to tip mine about $250.  Or I was thinking about getting a gift card for a nice restaurant in the area for her.  She has been so helpful and I know i am asking her to do things that go above and beyond her usual job description.  Gratuity is included in my package for the waitstaff, but she isnt waitstaff and in my opion has worked very hard to help me have a perfect day so I think she deserves something too.
