Hey girls.  Ok so me and my fiance visited Dyker beach golf course today and while it's pretty it was quite expensive.  Have any of you visited more places and received better quotes then $150 a person.  Dyker was around $100 but when added tax and gratuity it came to be around $150.  Any advice would be great.  Thank you!

When are you planning your wedding? A Friday or Sunday will be less expensive than a Saturday. I got quotes from a few places in Staten Island:

-Island Chateau- centerpieces are included in the package
-Vanderbuilt
-Old Bermuda Inn (probably was the cheapest and allows you to customize your menu)
-Hilton is where we are getting married
-The Staaten- I didn't see it but I heard they have good prices and include centerpieces

With tax and gratuity, I think Island Chateau, Old Bermuda Inn and the Staaten may fit with your budget.

Thanks for the info Jadzia.  We are planning our wedding for April 2013.  We were most likely having it on a friday or sunday because it is cheaper.  I have an appointment to go to the hilton this week. I know its expensive but wanted to see it anyway bc i heard it beautiful.  Did you get a good deal at the Hilton?  I'm also going to see the Vanderbilt this week as well...were they very expensive as well?? Thanks a lot!

It is still expensive but cheaper than it would have been any other time of the year since we're getting married on a Sunday in Winter. I didn't think i'd be able to even afford the Hilton but i'm so glad we visited.
The contact from the Vanderbuilt showed me a few different menus with a few different prices, some of which were in our price range. The beach view didn't really appeal to us since our wedding is in the winter. PM me if you have any other questions.

Island Chateau is about $100 a person including tax and grat I believe.  I've been to a wedding at the Staaten and I believe it's pretty afforable and the food was great!  Good Luck!

Sirico's in Dyker Heights is pretty reasonable
El Cribe usually considering your time of year and package is very flexible
Giando's on the Water, its actually a restaurant but has a room upstairs, the food is wonderful and the view is incredible.

Riviera in Coney Island quoted $115 for a Saturday night.  Fridays and Sundays must be cheaper.

we've gone there a few times for friends weddings. but like any hall it depend on time of the year, day of the week and time of the day.
if you are on a really tight budget see if any hall has days the are trying to get rid of, you may have to rush the planning (like 6months to plan) but you can get it almost 1/2 off

Vanderbilt quoted me at $110 for a Sunday night. FI and I felt that was a lot of money for a Sunday! (we would rather a Saturday, SUnday is supposed to be to save $$)

My fiance and I fell in love with Villa Russo's in Queens.  It is very close to Brooklyn, and their price quote was very much in our budget ($75 per person).  But, they also had other menu options that were cheaper. Their customer service is phenomenal, and the ballroom is amazing ( we loved the balcony they had that went all around the ballroom).  Unfortunately, although they said it holds about 240 guets, we felt it was be too tight for our guestlist of about 175.  If we had a smaller wedding guest, Villa Russo would def be our choice.  The only cons for us were the lack of a bridal suite and the fact that the grounds didnt offer a good view or an outdoor space for our guests.

I extermely recommend Villa Russo (i sound like i work for them, but i don't i promise) Hope this is helpful!
