This may be a stupid question... My dad's cousin (so my second cousin) just messaged me for my address to invite me to her son's (so my third cousin's) fiancee's bridal shower and their wedding in November, even though I have never met her (because they live a few states away and I only see them at Christmas). The bridal shower is two weeks away - I feel like invitations should have gone out by now, but that's whatever. Anyway, my issue is that my parents are divorced and I've lived with my mom and I am way closer to her and her side of the family, which is HUGE, and that's where the majority of our guest list comes from. We wanted a small wedding and between FI and I, we're at 110 guests for a room that holds 120 and that's without inviting ANY of her or my dad's cousins (I'm only inviting my first cousins from my mom's side, not my dad's because we're closer and there's five of us, versus twenty). So, do I have to invite them to my wedding since I'm being invited to their's?
