Do you need to invite the wedding party's guests to the rehearsal dinner?

I already know I'm inviting my cousins significant other because they will be traveling out of town. But do I need to invite the guests the wedding party chooses to bring if they live close? A lot of them are single and I'm not sure if I'm going to even know the dates they are bringing.

Any input would be great!
Thanks

  • If they're truly single, you don't need to extend a +1. If they're in a relationship, then yes, their SOs should be invited.

  • If you know they're single, then no, you don't need to invite an extra guest to come with them. If they have a SO, then I think you need to include them.

Significant others must be invited. True +1s needn't be. Unless they're from out of town and traveling together -- then you should invite them along.

  • I'm gonna disagree with PPs and say they should absolutely be included.  If they're bringing someone to the wedding they should also be invited to the rehearsal; if nothing else it's a good opportunity for them to meet the other WP's dates so they can all sit together at the wedding if they won't know anyone else.

My advice was given under the assumption that dates wouldn't be separated during the reception, which I find very rude anyway.
