I'm not sure if its required, but parents of the bride and groom have always been invited to the ones I've been too, as well as siblings not in the wedding party and their SO's or dates. Grandparents also ended up at quite a few.

  • My best friend did a huge RD party at her home the day before the wedding. A ton of the guests were from out of town so they had a caterer do some hors douerves and salads and things and had a lot of beer and wine and everyone was invited.

It was great, we got to meet people and mingle and the bride and groom got to really visit with everyone instead of doing quick visits on the wedding day. Also, those who weren't able to make the wedding stopped by for the party.

We're going to try to duplicate that kind of relaxing night for our RD at maybe my parents house because it's closest to the venue.

You'll never be subject to a cash bar, gap, potluck wedding, or b-list if you marry a Muppet Overlord.
  • I like the if their presence is required at the rehearsal way of thinking. Unfortunately, Our venue can't hold dates for the WP, we are only inviting those who are in serious relationships, but everyone has a plus one for the reception.

</div><div>That's rude, and you need to find a new venue as soon as possible.
