Hmm, about me. FI and I are currently in England, where he's from, until Monday. We're returning (I'm returning, he's visiting) to the US so I can apply for my fiancee visa to marry in England. Assuming my application doesn't get declined by the UK Border Agency, our wedding will be November 6. Habibi and I met on teh Flickr while he was working in Dubai. I stalked him a little bit, wore him down, and invited myself over to Dubai for a visit in December 08. A visit to the US for him in April, a meeting halfway in England in June, and in September of last year I flew myself and my two kittehs to Dubai to be with him and to look for a job. My looking-for-a-job thing failed miserably and, given that you typically have to contract to at least a year once you do get a job, we decided that I should stop looking, and that we'd go to England and start preparing for the wedding.

He's super organized, and emails himself to-do lists. He accidentally emailed me the vacation to-do list containing when he was going to propose. I was still surprised and cried plenty when he did it. He didn't have a ring right then, so he proposed with a necklace of my name in Arabic ("Kathreen", it would be pronounced.)

I love cooking, kittehs, and photography. If I can make something from scratch, I will (at least try to). I can't pass a cat without trying to get it to come to me for a scritch and some conversation. My camera is usually in my purse.

I came to E originally because I wanted to make sure I was doing everything correctly, and because I actually find the subject of etiquette really interesting. My mom bought me the Post Etiquette book a couple years ago and I would just sit and flip through it. (I have to get it from my parents' house when we go there in a couple days - I had to leave it behind because there was no room in my suitcases for it.) I enjoy antag.... um, nicely answering questions here.

Pizza is one of my most most most favorite things to eat. Not from chain restaurants, really, but your local Italian place. I enjoy making it from scratch too, although I'm still working on the finer points of making dough.

Tom Hanks, while there's a lot of his work I haven't seen, I like to imagine is as much a likeable guy IRL as he seems in movies and interviews. I used to think he was cute when I was younger, followed by finding it hilarious that a TV show had "bosom" in its name. Of his works that I have seen, I don't think there's one that I haven't liked - or if I didn't like it, it wasn't because of him.

A fellow cat lover, eh?  We have 7 rescues.  Well, 8 including the stray outside.  My dad's watching the cats while DH and T come down to visit me.  He called me today:

Dad:   "So, there's this cat outside, and I can't get it to come in."
Me:  "Is it Calico?"
Dad:  "Yes"
Me:  "Is there also a Calico sitting on top of the fridge"
Dad:  "Yes"
Me:  "Then the cat outside is Stranger.  She's a stray and isn't supposed to come inside.  Also - the calico on the fridge is Cammy.  She'll try to go outside, but she's not supposed to."
