I'm so relieved right now. My hubby and I were married Friday! YAY YAY YAY 

We found out the next morning that our venue was closed for good by the Fire Marshall. No one knows why, but I'm so so glad that they allowed us to have our wedding before closing it! I feel for the girls who have less than a week or two to find a new venue. It's a beautiful place and the people are wonderful. It's too bad the owner couldn't comply with what the FD wanted.

Anyway, had to vent, and had to say how sucky it is for the other girls. Have any of you had similar things happen to you?

I'm a MOB, but when her father and I were married back in 1997, our town was experiencing crazy flooding. As in, flooding of epic proportions with people evacuated from their homes, many homes destroyed, total chaos everywhere. 

The wedding was set for Friday. Our venue was a beautiful restaurant on the lake — which, as we were notified that Monday morning, had three feet of water in its main dining room. 

So we scrambled. Two other possiblities were also under water; a couple more were already booked. But we kept on phoning and found us a place. Wasn't ideal or our favorite,  but it was an awesome wedding! The marriage has been even better!
