My FI's cousin was supposed to be the MOH in a wedding this month, but the bride called off the wedding.
The bride had had the dresses custom made, and they were already done, so the MOH now has the dress. From what I understand, it was $400+, since it was custom made, and if she had decided not to keep the dress, she would only have got around $100 back.
I was just wondering what was proper etiquette for paying for the dress in this situation? I think the bride and groom were already seriously in the red for the wedding (they had multiple Jack and Jills with more planned), but it still sucks to be stuck with an expensive useless dress.
Is it just one of those risks of being a bridesmaid? Is there such thing bridesmaid insurance?
