I'm always amazed at how many people call us fuming mad that we sent them a postcard and demand to be removed from our mailing list.

I don't have the energy to call people and "demand" they do anything.  Maybe when I'm older.  I'll make it a hobby.

This reminds me! - DH has been taking his junk mail/newspapers and using them to start fires. He also likes burning stuff. :)

I always think about calling to ask to be removed from the list and then I get distracted by cookies or something shiny and it never happens.

This may be a big part of it. I work for a place that sells haering aids so 90% of our patients are older. They get mean too! Screaming and hanging up mean

I voted for throw it away because our apartment complex doesn't have a recycling program.

Oh, I should add that I shred anything with my name/address on it and chuck the rest.

Sucrets - I used to be great at recycling, but when we were in TN our apartment manager told us that they don't recycle there, and that if we wanted to then we had to take our stuff over the border into KY. So, we just started throwing stuff away and have been awful ever since. :-\

Most of it I throw away.  Most of it just says "Current Resident" anyway. 

Some things that have my name on them I'll call and ask to be removed from the list.  I have gotten horribly inappropriate stuff in the mail though - all sorts of female health crap, to my exact name, from a local hospital.  That I've never set foot inside, and that my doctor(s) don't practice at.  I asked nicely 3 times.  When they sent me "Getting excited about your unplanned pregnancy" I wasn't so nice on the phone.

I also get snotty with politicians who mail crap to me when it's coated in "Jesus would vote for me" kinda stuff on the outside.

See this is just postcards saying, "come to our seminar, find out about the latest in Hearing Aid technology." Nothing offensive there...

I always think about calling and getting removed from mailing lists.  I live in apartment with a mail bank.  The trash down there is always filled with 200 copies of the same junk.  It makes me sad to think about how many trees died for nothing. 
But I'm busy and I just toss it and forget it.

This is me. I get ridiculous amounts of junk mail and even more mail for the person who used to live here. I never waste my time by calling anyone though.

Oh, and one time this guy called in demanding to be removed from our mailing list. I told him I didn't his name in our database but we do purchase a list from our local newspaper and the only way to be removed from that list is to write in. He got mad and said I should guarantee he wouldnt get mail from us anymore. I explained I could try but I couldnt guarantee it..Then he YELLED "I bet if I gave you a million dollars you'd make sure I didn't get mail from you guys anymore!!!!"

I have been going through my daily emails and unsubscribing from their mailing lists.  They all come to my phone and I am tired of receiving junk mail that I don't want.
