How to ask my MOH to pay me for her dress?

She said she would pay for her dress but she couldn't come to the bridal shop to pick it out and order it, so I said I will pick it out. She said that was fine. I ordered it, and she owes me $150. How do I go about asking her to pay me now since I need that money to go towards some of the down payments like for the Florist or Cake. I mean im not in DIRE need of the money.. But she said she would pay, so what do I do?

  • "Hey, just wanted to let you know that I took care of the dress and the total is $150.  If you could pay me back by mid May I'd really appreciate it."

That's of course assuming that you asked her for her budget in advance and that the dress is in her budget.

perfect answer thank you! And yes I did ask her if that was affordable for her and she said yes. I chose very modest dresses I texted her a pic its deff. a dress she can wear again. Its chocolate. and simple with pockets.
  • Well, the way you're supposed to ask is to say, "Hey, what's your budget?" and not, "Hey is this price OK?"

Just make sure that you didn't break her budget.
  • Yes I asked appropriately, I said "What do you think you could afford for a dress for the wedding?" And she said "Less than 300 should be do-able" And I said "I picked one out for 150, and it looks like this "show pic"" She said "That is great and I can totally afford that!" And I said "Ok sure, I will order it today since you can't come to the shop". And the dresses are in now, we are going next saturday to have the final fitting on them. I hope that was acceptable...
  • Totally fine.  :-)
  • Thanks for the help!!
