Marning!

Just one day closer to Christmas! :)

How is everything this morning? Wishing for snow? I am.

Re: Marning!

  • Morning wonderful ladies of E!

Some snow sure would be nice, it would make me feel right at home.

I think I have only bought one Christmas gift so far which was for my co-teacher. We have a few more to buy, but will probably wait until we go home to get the rest so we can get all of the deals and markdowns. Yeah, it will be after Christmas, but any money I can save, that is all the better.

I am up and moving. I woke up several times last night having these damn coughing spells and even woke H up a time or two. I should have taken my narcotic cough syrup, but I just hate taking that stuff all the time. I feel better, but my cough has gotten worse, which is weird. If it isn't a lot better by Friday I guess I will have to go to the doctor.
  • Man Missy Sue - what is this, like the 3rd straight week you've been sick?  That really blows!  Hopefully you feeling better and the cough getting worse means you're finally getting it all out of your system.

Good Morning everyone!  Just another wonderful day at work today.  I get Thursday off, so that makes me pretty happy.

I'm not typically a Christmas countdown type of person, but Jocelyn made this Christmas chain at school and we've been taking one off every night and also doing an advent calendar, and I have to admit, I'm getting pretty excited that the chain is getting shorter pretty darn fast.  I just have a few more things to get for Mr Stack and then we're finished!
  • Yeah, it is the second week I have been sick. Started as headache, chills, but no fever, being lethargic, all that. That is exactly what I am thinking, hopefully the more productive cough means that I am getting better. I really hate going to the doctor and try to avoid it at all costs, esp since we have this HSA insurance plan, which I am not a fan of.
  • Morning.

My cough is finally going away.  I accidently discovered it was allergy related.

Today we were out exploring and we decided to stop at an animal shelter.  i think we found ... a puppy...

It's mom is a Staffy (which I hate), the doog they think is the father is a Doberman/Mastiff and the puppy looks like a Rottie.  Aside from the ridi cost of adopting a stry down here, help me think of reasons this is a bad idea.

  • I have never been able to watch a puppy grow into a dog, so I say do it. :)  We have three animals now and a puppy just wouldn't work, but I would loooove it.

Oh, I can think of good and bad reasons.

Good: I want a dog really bad, but H doesn't want one bc he grew up with animals and is tired of them for now. Plus we aren't allowed to have them in our apt.

Bad: I have allergies, too. And depending on what kind you choose, they can cause you all kinds of problems. That is why we never had pets growing up bc my Mom, my sister and I were all allergic to just about everything.

Congrats on the new job cfa!
  • I think it is in the bull terrier family.

    [QUOTE]aMrs -- What's a Staffy?

    A Staffordshire Bull Terrior.
Bull Terriers and Pit Bulls are HUGELY popular breeds down here, but I hate them.  Just ugly.  Thankfully the puppy looks like a Rottie, even down to the head/muzzle shape.

  • Missy- I have terrible allergies and my parents got a Bichon Frise (not sure I'm spelling that correctly). She's a little loveball and she doesn't bother me at all. H and I are going to get one, eventually. :)

    And good morning, everyone!
  • Monring ladies.  It's actually 42 degrees here this morning AKA freezing!  :P

  • Our new cellphones are being delivered today so I am frantically checking the fedex tracker.. but I have an appt at 10:20 and I am completely convinced I am not going to be here to sign for them :( Last time I went to the dentist (last week) they were working on the x-ray machine so I have to go today and get my x-rays. Dang it.

  • Aww, those are such cute little dogs. My parents neighbors have one.

I want a dog bad, I think it would help me when I am lonely at night when H is on call. But not only are we not allowed to have one in our apt complex, H doesn't want one right now.

However, he agreed that we had to have one once we have kids. Ya know, kids and a dog just say family to me.
  • Funny thing is I'm really allergic to dogs, but they don't seem to bother me down here.  We were at the shelter for about 30 minutes, with no reaction at all.  typically I can't even go into the dog area without sneezing and wheezing.

They say that Bichons are hypo allergenic, but they also say that miniture schanuzers are too.  We found out I was allergic when I got a mini schanuzer for my 4th b'day.

That is the high here today in Augusta, GA. There are even reports of ice on the roads from when places had their sprinkler systems on over night and yesterday.

So, off to work for me. I want to leave a little bit earlier bc the people here drive like crazies.
  • Morning! It's about 20 degrees here right now, so I'm happy to be inside.

On dogs, I would never get a puppy again. We just got a dog last year who is now 1&1/2 years old and it was a nightmare trying to house break him. DH completely agrees that if we ever get another dog it is going to at the very least 6-12 months old. We're done with puppies.

  • Good morning!

    Missy -- feel better :(

AMrs. -- puppies are so much fun, but so much work.  BUT.  So worth it.  I'm not helping at all, I know.  I miss having a dog.  My family had one for 10 years until he passed away, and he was the best dog.  H and I want to adopt one, but we live in a teeny-tiny apartment so it's really not a good time right now.

  • oh hai. I'm back and stuff! And I only ever wish for snow when it'll be enough to close my office. Other than that, I hate winter.
  • Morning ladies!  PUPPIES!!!! :)  I love puppies.  If I had the time to be home with one and house train it and all that.

Nothing interesting going on here.  If H can get our wedding photos uploaded to Snapfish I'm going to start working on little photo books for our parents for Christmas because they're having a sale.

  • We just aren't home enough, and I don't think I'm ready to change my life around so that we are home enough.

  • Trip was fantastic! It wasn't exactly warm while we were there, but it was warmer than it is in DC. Between running ourselves to exhaustion every day, the weather being chilly and there being kids (AKA germ factories) everywhere, I caught a pretty nasty cold. But that didn't stop me! We went to every park and rode every ride that was on our list... some of them more than once. And Harry Potter land was incredible. I don't even have words. They did a really excellent job with everything!
  • We're mostly home enough.  I think it's just a level of commitment that says "we are here to stay".

I'm not sure that I'm ready to accept that yet.

  • Sounds awesome, Manda.  I'm totally jealous.

Is that a picture of Floridian Christmas decorations?  Love it.

  • Good morning.  I don't know how good of a morning this is gonna be - we shall see.  We have a group meeting at 10am, and based on a series of events over the past few days, I don't think it's gonna be good news.  I'll check back in around 10:15 because I may or may not need hugs.......
