Annoying things you do

What are some things you do that annoy even you?

-When typing I "haha" a lot. It's like a nervous thing to help lessen any awkwardness I may feel.
-When I'm bossing people around, confronting people or explaining stuff for my side job my voice gets high pitched and cracks. I hate it. Stupid nerves.

Re: Annoying things you do

  • My continued use of "lol"

    I sing when I shouldn't.

I leave glasses and cups all over the house.  It drives FI batty.
  • -- I always start to drink a can or bottle of something, and then I forget about it, leaving it wherever I laid it down, and therefore bothering Fi to death. I also know its wasteful, so I shouldn't do that.

-- I type "lol" like a 5 year old when I want to convey that I am not being serious. It bothers me, so I know it must bother ithers.

  • I talk to my cats in a reeeeally hi pitched voice. My H thinks it's cute but I am sure it would annoy anyone else.

I do things halfassed most of the time, except school work. Like, after my h folds the clothes, I will only put up half of them and leave the rest on the couch. Or, I will just fold the bread bag over instead of twisty tying it.

  • ricks----I'm not trying to threadjack, but did we ever discuss where you were in MS/LA. I know you are somewhere in my neck of the woods, but not sure where.

  • I am in Jackson but I drive to Hattiesburg everyday for school USM :)

  • If someone says "hey shelly!" I say "wud uuuup"  I don't even know why, as it comes out of my mouth I am telling myself to shut up.

I also bite my nails kind of loud.  It grosses people out.

I do this too! And Ang, I talk to my cats in a baby voice but so does DH, so it works out. :)

I talk really loud at times and need constant reminders from DH and my mom to take it down a few notches. I can't help it though.

I leave clean laundry sitting around for days. It gets wrinkled and I feel the need to wash it again. And a S/O of that is that I can't iron and that annoys me because a) I could just iron the clothes instead of washing them again and b) I always have to ask DH to do it for me.

EDIT - I also procrastinate on important things. Rather than get it over with, I put it off and stress out about it. I'm lucky if it gets done.

  • I call Pete "Babe" all the time, I was ok with this until I saw the office episode with Jan & Michael and the dinner party.

    I type way too loudly

I talk to our dog like she's our child, including saying things like "Ginger puff, your daddy's home!!"

    Yeah...

    image
  • Oh I also talk to my rabbit in a chinese voice and I call my cat ling ling even though his name is Henry. Okay I am really weird lol!
    image
  • I do the pet/child thing too.  James Tiberius or as I say "James Turrburius" is a momma's boy.

and Ming, "oh Mings, you so mercaless"

  • lp- We talk to the dog that way. Allll the time "wanna go see daddy?" "follow mommy!" its sad I know but It doesnt bug me that I do it. My dog is my baby.

-I update my FB status, a lot. I know how annoying that can be but I just..I dont know.
  • ricks, you used to have your bunny in your sig, right? Or am I crazy? Either way, I'm demanding bunny pictures.

  • Ang - I have a Henry too. Have we talked about this?

Laine - I call one of my cats Coco Puff. :) The whole mommy/daddy thing weirds me out, so I just say "Nelson's home!" to them.

  • I sing, non stop.  Anything is a song.  I like to replace words with my dog's name in the song and sing to him, I sing to my fi, and I even sing on the pooper.

    What? It echoes in there.
  • Me being on the computer (TK) alot of the time, drives FI crazy. My fast typing annoys FI, and anyone that hears it. The other night my brother was out visiting and I was here typing on the laptop and he said something about it being annoying.
I don't know I don't do anything that is annoying to myself I don't think. And I'm never told if something is annoying that I'm doing from FI or anyone else.. Other then being on the computer alot or typing fast and loud.  OO and I probably annoy some of you ladies, one way or another. It happens to all of us.

years ago my Best Friend called me "thunder fingers" since I typed so loud on the desktop keyboard. I think that sound decreased over time with the laptop keyboard.

  • I also give Nick, "Nick-names".  He finds it annoying.  here are some classics

Princess Nicky (and I have a good picture of him for this name)
    Nickums
    Nicky boo boo
    Nickles
    Nicky Noodle
    Sir Nicky Doodle
    and my personal favorite "Nickalicious"

and I call him these names, in front of people.  Poor guy.  Then he gets all huffy and acts "renickulous".

  • Ricks-
I live in Hattiesburg and went to USM. Small world.

  • -I let laundry pile up for the longest time.
-I put important things off far too often.
-I regularly crack myself up. While it amuses me (obviously) I'm sure it's not amusing to anyone else.
-I tell stories and get side-tracked in the middle. I always want to include the back-story.
-I get way to scared of being outside of a building at night time. Because, you know, that's the only place bad things can happen, duh.

  • Heh, glad I'm not the only one roxy. And gretchen, Pete would throw something at me for telling people this, but he's worse. He'll tell the dog to "be nice to your sister",  sister = the cat.

  • No GG. I did not know this! Is your Henry as bad as mine?

Hold on Lp let me see what I have on the computer.
    image
  • I make up nicknames for people.  I constantly tell family members to "simmer down" and then call them some random food name.  Like, "simmer down pot pie" or "simmer down fondue" - completely condescending and annoying, yet I love it.

    I sing to my cats!

Jt's song is "Fat bottom kitties make the rockin' world meow" (fat bottom girls)

and Ming's song is "Sweeeet feline! pounce! pounce! pounce!" (sweet caroline)

  • I also treat my pups as children. Fi and I "talk" for the dogs. We make up weird voices, and say what we think they would. Its lame, but we amuse ourselves.

Rick also will tell the dog to be nce to their sister/brother, depending on which one is being an asshat at the moment. We also say "mommy's home" or "daddy's going to feed you." I hate to think what we will be like when we have actual children.

  • My Henry is a little devil. He is always getting into trouble and when we yell his name, he bolts because he knows he's been bad. If I even walk quickly toward him, he takes off running. He's the lazy one in the middle in my sig pic.

    Laine - That's adorable though!

Shelly - I call Nelson "Nelly Belly" or "Nelly Bean." I addressed him as that in a card I sent to him while he was in Iraq and when his buddies found out about it, it was all over. They wouldn't let it go! Haha.

Ok, sorry, it didn't show up a second ago. Here's more.

-I pop my toes constantly. It drives people crazy. But they never stop popping, so I keep doing it.
-I am regularly too lazy to find the remote after something has played on the DVR. If I'm doing something else when it's finished, I'll let it replay and replay and replay. Today, an episode of Teen Mom replayed 5 times.
