**impslave**

we are going to vegas for the first time this summer.  we'll be staying off strip, and are looking to see some cool stuff other than casinos and shows (doing that too tho!).

what are some good touristy/historical things to do?

also, how far is hoover dam (i think hoover is the one near vegas), and is there an organized bus/shuttle that can take you there?  we wont have a car.

Re: **impslave**

  • I think one of the biggest attractions other than the casinos here is outlet shopping.  There's a huge outlet mall down near the airport, I think shuttles are available from a couple of the hotels.  As far as other touristy/historical things, I'm drawing a total blank on what else there is to do around here :/

Hoover Dam is about an hour away, and I think there's some companies that you can contact that have tours going down from a few of the strip hotels.

Where off the strip are you staying?

    green valley ranch.

we also love the show "pawn stars".  how hard is it to get into that store??
  • GVR is awesome.  We live not far from there and we love the restaruants and shops in The District.

There's usually a line at Gold and Silver Pawn, especially on days that they're filming.

    Have fun!
  • good to know!  thanks!
