Okay, so I haven't gotten all my save the dates sent out yet, but they are all sealed in their envelopes and addressed and ready to go. (I know some people will think it's early, but I had my mom address them because she's got good handwriting and she's a major procrastinator lol).
I've started looking into reserving a block of rooms with hotelplanner.com, and I think I've decided on a hotel (I haven't taken a look around yet, that's planned for next week).
My question is how do I get the hotel information to my guests? They have to reserve the rooms 1 month before the wedding to get the discounted rate (30% off!) so I kind of think sending it with the invitations would be too late. But I also think going ahead and opening all my STD envelopes and readdressing all of them would be too much of a hassle, and I think 6 months would be too early to send it anyways. Not everyone has an email address, and I don't know most people's anyways. Should I maybe send out postcards to the OOT guests?
Also, should I book a room or two extra just in case someone gets too drunk to get home? The hotel offers a shuttle service from the hotel to the event site (it's about 5 miles away and it's ceremony and reception in one) and I would like to know that people have the option of staying at the hotel. Is this just completely un-nessecary? I will be cutting off the alcohol portion of the bar about an hour before the end of the reception...
TIA for the advice : )
