How much to pay?

How much do you suggest paying the minister?  We're not getting married at the church he is a minister at, so how much is the going rate?

we gave him $150 + travel costs (ours came from another state, so FIL paid for flight and we paid for the hotel room)

I think it depends on your area.

Our friend married us and I got her a fab Kate Spade baby bag and a $100 spafinder gift card.

Have you asked him? We asked ours and he told us that he does not have a set fee. We gave him $200 (although in retrospect I wish we had given more) and a $300 donation to the church (we did get married in his church). But this was on top of the fee to use the church and the custodian's fee.

If he doesn't have a set fee just pay him what you think is reasonable and you think you can afford.

We are paying our minister 495.00
This includes a 30 minute meeting to plan the ceremony, a 1 hour rehearsal, and the ceremony itself. He will also be filing our paperwork after the wedding,
