I have these conference calls I have to conduct once a month, with every region in the world.  It's already a giant PITA, but it's something I have to do, so starting Friday, continuing today and into tomorrow, I have a bunch of these things scheduled.  Because they I have to accomodate all different kinds of time zones, I start these things at 7am my time, and finish after 5.  Whatever. Just a day a month, right?

This is the THIRD month in a row that I have been blown off by an entire region. I.am.pissed. I have to stay late to do this particular call (okay, I'm at home, but that's not really the point) and every.single.time, they accept the meeting request, then never show.  I'm livid. I've told my boss after the second time, but her response was, literally "If they don't want to attend, I can't make them."

....Seriously?  You're the global manager and you can't make them? Au contrair! But at this point, I feel completely fed up. Not to mention, I already feel like I'm going to dead end here for 'political' reasons and now I'm not being supported by my boss.

No advice needed (unless you have magical abilities to make people less assholeish) just wanted to vent.

I would just say "If they're not forced to show up, then why am I?"  If they don't want to show up, then fine. They just shouldn't accept the meeting and then bail.  That's on them.  I'd say something to the boss along those lines

I work for a Unified Communications company and we do meetings over video to promote the use of the crap we sell. It is very interesting to see these clowns in real-time and to put a face with a name.

That sucks. We have customers do the same thing all the time. The good thing is, if they miss 3 calls then we proceed without their interview. That usually results in a crappier site, but whatever, they should have answered the damn phone.

Sorry this ended up being a P&R guys.

I'm just so aggravated. They are consistently the only group who are non-compliant, think they don't have to listen to corporate, etc. And it's TOTALLY the Swedish way to not make a huge fuss over it. Drives me bonkers.

Ugh, that is frustrating. My whole job is scheduling phone and in-office interviews with students and more than half the time, they just don't show up. freaking frustrating.
