I have this friend back home, we used to be BFFs for like 10 years, moved apart but still stayed in touch We met when we moved to the town my dad had worked in. She's 2 years younger than me, half black and never knew her dad.
So her mom has been battling cancer for the last year or so, and we have been talking a lot on FB, phone etc since around Christmas. I saw a couple days ago her mom took a turn for the worst and she hasn't been online, no one knows if her mom has passed, etc. She called me tonight just as I was leaving work, and told me I had better sit down. She said that her mom died last night, and before she did, she told J who her real dad is, and apparently it's MY dad! I guess one weekend my dad stayed out at the camp, and went to a party, got drunk, hooked up with J's mom, you know the rest. She said she wanted to tell me before she called him.
I'm just shell-shocked. I mean not that my dad fooled around, he's an habitual cheater. But the fact that J and I could be sisters! I have no idea if he knew, and I am really not looking forward to having that conversation with him.
So yeah, I thought it was going to be interesting enough to introduce FI's grandmother to my stepmother's gf, but also to my half sister I didn't know I had until today, but I have pictures of at my house
