Hi,
New to this, and am hoping for some guidance. I'm over 40. The FI and I intend to pay for wedding ourselves. My father gave us $5000 this week, and the check was "delivered" to us by my mother, who was visiting from out of town. However, my mother is not a fan of FI, and vocal about it.
I don't want to refuse, as this would hurt my traditional father's feelings. How do we thank them for their gift? Do we call them together on the phone (again out of town), and follow up with a thank you gift/card?
I want to keep the peace and do the right thing. Thanks
