RD invite question

Do I invite our chaplain to the RD?
What about his wife?

I already invited them to the wedding but not sure about the RD.

I don't see why you wouldn't. I think extending an invite would be a good idea.

We invited ours. He declined, though.

I would.  Ours is a friend, and the BF of a BM, so we would have either way, but yeah.  I would.

We invited our officiant and his wife to the RD and he declined.  My event planner said it was proper to invite them and that they usually decline.

Yes, it's customary to invite the officiant and spouse to the RD.  If they are not well acquainted with you, they will usually politely decline.
