Bridal shower dilemma

Some ladies at church threw me a bridal shower a few weeks ago, it was really great and I had a great time.  My dilemma is that my FI's aunt wants to throw me another shower.  (The first was a houseware type shower, this would be a lingerie shower) A lot of the people we are wanting to invite were invited/threw the other shower.  I want them there just because it would make for a fun party, however I dont know if it is appropriate to invite some of the same people (not all the same, only about half the people invited to this one would have been invited/came to the last one)

So here is my question: Is it ok to invite the same people to more than one shower?  They are really the only close friends I have so if she does the shower I want them there.

Thanks girls :)

You really shouldn't invite people to multiple showers, with limited exceptions: bridesmaids, moms, and sisters.

The only people I invited to multiple showers were bridesmaids, moms, and my brother's FI (was invited to two family showers - divorced family).

If they're super close friends, I'd say you can invite them, but tell them that they're invited because you'd like them to hang out, not for gifts.  I told my BM that she didn't have to come to both, or either, and that if she did, she didn't need to worry about gifts.

  • I'm inviting BMs to all three of my showers. I have one that is just with my FI's friends moms so I would like them there:)  I made it clear though that they are there for fun and support--they don't have to bring gifts to all three.
  • I want them there more to hang out than for gifts. They are some of my good friends so I would really like to invite them and if I dont and she still throws the shower they are they type of friends who would say "Why didnt I get invited to this? :(" so I just wasnt sure what to do. Thanks for the advice.
