Saying hello to everyone at the reception......

Hi ladies! My day is getting very close. I'm so happy todays topic seems to be tipping so those questions already covered what I was thinking about earlier.

Anyways....

So we plan on standing where everyone walks in to the reception to say hello, etc. Every wedding I've been too except for maybe one has had that. I think its called the greeting line but could be wrong. So if we say hi to everyone as they walk in, do I still do the table hopping later on to say hello and thanks for coming??

Re: Saying hello to everyone at the reception......

  • if you do a receiving line then table visits are not necessary.
  • Nope, it is one or the other.  We are doing a receiving line as well at my parents' request so I don't need to do table visits--I will sit and eat
  • Just make sure you greet your guests as they enter the reception.  If you do the receiving line after your ceremony, there could be some guests that you miss on the chance that some guests can't make the ceremony.  This would be less of an issue, if your ceremony and reception is all in one place, rather than a church and a hall.
  • Ditto PPs.  That said, we did end up "table hopping" when we weren't on the dance floor, simple because our friends and family who weren't dancing were hanging out at tables and we wanted to chat with them.
