Bridal Party

Hello,

We already announced our Bridal Party, is it too late to add more?  Will the newcomers feel as though they are second best? Should we just stick to the original? If it is ok to add them how do we do so without making them feel as second best?

Thanks !

Re: Bridal Party

  • I guess it all depends on the timing and why you are adding more people.

Is your wedding in a few weeks and you need to "add" people to fill in space or make even sides?  Are you replacing a wedding party member who dropped out/couldn't commit?  Under those circumstances, I would say don't do it and leave the originals.

But I don't think there is any rule where you have to ask everyone at the same time.

  • Your wedding is about a year away. I would wait and ask when you are about 6-8 months out. Things and friendships can change in a years time.

And what pp said is also correct.
  • If it's only been a couple of weeks since you've asked people, you might be in the clear.  We waited about a week to ask some people because we knew we were going to see them and wanted to ask them in person.  If it's been months since you've asked some people to be in your WP and you've seen them in person multiple times, then they might think it was weird that you didn't ask them before.

I think she means that the word is out to family and friends, etc on who is going to be in the WP.
  • I don't think you have to ask everyone at once.  I wanted to ask mine all in person, so it ended up being a bit spread out.
