Shower Thank-You notes - OK to have groom's name as well?

I'm ordering new stationery today - our Thank You cards. They'll say Thank You with our names below, "Jane & John."  Ok for me to use these when I send thank you's after my shower?

I'm probably over thinking this....

Re: Shower Thank-You notes - OK to have groom's name as well?

  • I would not get them printed with either name. As long as you're handwriting all the notes anyway, it takes half a second longer to sign your name.
  • You need to sign your name in your own hand. If you have them preprinted with both names, then you BOTH need to sign them in your own hands. (I.e., he needs to sign his name, not you signing both of your names).

Thanks - it's not pre-printed inside, it's on the cover of the note.

I'll just get ones that aren't personalized and used them for all occasions.

    Thanks for the input!
  • I think on the cover is fine, but I think these ladies were thinking you were just having the names at the bottom as a signature. If you have your name on the cover, you will still have to sign your name on the inside.
  • I think that having them on the cover is fine and I also agree that you should sign your own names on the inside.  If it was a gift just for you then feel free to sign and send.  If it was a gift for both of you (any number of household items come to mind), then I think it would be nice for both of you to sign the "thank you."  Hope this helped!
  • For shower notes, you need to leave the groom's name off the signature and just sign your own name.

For wedding notes, he should sign his own name while you sign yours.
