Re: take my poll- persimmon vs. clover

  • I think you should decide this in a year.

  • just say no to David's Bridal clover. it's terrible.
  • OMG you have almost 2 years to go. Don't pick colors now. You might change your mind :)

  • Hey now, some of us had no problems with DB.

I agree that there is no way you should be worrying about this now. Besides, unless your eventual bridesmaids are super fans of orange and green, I think you should stick with a far more neutral dress color and accent with on or the other of those colors. I personally, would not be happy about being told to spend $150 on an orange dress.

  • I second not making this decision now. You have TONS OF TIME and it's very likely that you'll change your mind...

And, it would be really helpful if you posted links to the sites showing the colors. Or even better, pictures. People are more likely to vote if they don't have to go hunting for examples...
  • You shouldn't even be asking your WP for another year.

  • Im not voting unless given links for examples. I dont care enough to search for myself.
  • There needs to be a "neither" option.
  • Which do YOU like better?

And think of your BMs. Which would they hate less?

I think (1) you should learn the proper placement of apostrophes and (2) you should wait at least 14 months before thinking about this.
  • wow you'll are harsh.... forgive me for being excited and wanting to get the ball rolling...

  • We're not harsh, we're answering your question and speaking from experience. Orange and green are colors that aren't worn well or liked by every girl. Secondly, brides change their minds a lot, excitement aside. You may not like either of those colors in a year and if you've ordered or purchased stuff, you'll be stuck and out money. Lastly, bridal parties can change - friendships change. Wait on asking your bridesmaids for a year, and see who are your friends then.

  • Words of advice from a girl that had a two year engagement, wait. I went through like 5 different color schemes.

THIS, exactly. We're not trying to burst your bubble; we're trying to save you from a bunch of trouble down the line. You don't know how many brides we see on here who made these sorts of decisions very early and then regretted their choice of BMs (friends change, etc.) and decided on different colors. Things change A LOT in 18 months ;)

Well I'm bored enough to hunt for examples.

    Alfred Angelo persimmon:

    DB Clover:

To answer your question, definitely persimmon out of the two options. I HATE DB Clover. HATE ALL CAPS HATE. And that persimmon color isn't bad, since it's more of a coraly orange. It's not like DB Tangerine, which is an equally miserable color to clover.

And to not answer your question but further burst your bubble... every PP is correct. Don't pick your colors now. You will change your mind. Don't pick your bridal party now. You will change your mind. No doubt about either of those things, I don't care who you are.

  • I totally thought she was talking about baking/cooking and was intrigued by what could be made with clover... I need a vacation.
