Aisle ready?

Davids Bridal says they give you your gown "Aisle ready". I'm wondering how "ready" it really is. Who got thier dress through Davids and how ready was it?

Side not/question - Did I spell Aisle right? Or is it isle? I'm having a serious spelling brain fart!

Re: Aisle ready?

  • Aisle.

I have no idea what they mean by that, other than possibly a guarantee it will fit perfectly? I can't imagine ordering one and having it fit perfectly without alterations.
  • No, I go in for alterations and what not but when it's finished they steam it and put it in a bodice package that's supposed to make it keep its shape. I'm just a little skeptical because my dress isn't small and I can't imagine it keeping it's shape unless it was in a 5x10 box...

  • I got my dress at DB, but didn't get my alterations done there.
  • Didn't get my dress at DB. I purchased mine and got it altered at AA. They didn't tell me it would be aisle ready but they did put it with a "bodice" hanger (it was a wimpy half person form) and tissue. They also steamed it. It looked fine when I took it out of the garment bag a couple weeks later.

  • I'm guessing it means all not wrinkled with the train down. I'd ask them, though.

  • I got my first wedding dress from them.

They steamed my veil and had it hung in the garmet bag. They also steamed my dress and hung it with a bodice half shaper thing.

I just took it out of the bag and threw it on.

  • Meh, I'd go ahead and chalk this up to marketing ploy. There's nothing special they (or any other bridal store) can do other than the regular steaming and padding.
  • aisle ready just means you don't have to steam or press it.  Mine was that way (not from DB).
  • haha I didn't notice them say that at all..but ya I got my dress & alterations done at Davids.

As others have said they steam it and put it on a cardboard form, they clip the train up with tissue and it was fine the day of.
  • I got my dress from DB, but I walked out with the sample that day. I didn't get my alterations there because they were WAY overpriced and wouldn't have been able to do everything I wanted anyway.

Oh. Mine from DB came all wrinkled at the bottom. Needs to be steamed... guess I need to do that soon.
