Should We Invite Them

My fiance and I live and work in Albuquerque, NM but are getting married in my hometown of Cleveland, OH.

We both know that our bosses and co-workers won't be able to make it, but should we invite them none the less?

We are also planning on hosting a party back in New Mexico for all of our friends and co-workers back here. Does that count and get us off the hook when it comes to inviting these same people?

Re: Should We Invite Them

  • I invited anyone that I actually wanted at our wedding.  Regardless of whether they could make it.  If you were getting married in town, would you invite them?
  • Think to youself "Is it important for these people to see you get married?"  You have your answer right there.

  • You're THAT close with your bosses and coworkers that you're going to invite them all?

Remember that you're not obligated to invite them to you wedding.  At all.

  • You're not obligated to invite co-workers or bosses, and if you don't socialize with them outside of work, then  you really shouldn't invite them.  In your case, I wouldn't invite them to the OH wedding.  The party when you get back is good enough for co-workers and bosses, and even unnecessary really.
