Shower with Coworkers

My FH and I are having a destination wedding with a reception with friends and family when we return.  Our guest list is set and invitations are addressed and ready to send out next week.  We chose not to invite any of coworkers to our reception because we are not that close to them.  Today my supervisor asked if she could host a small shower for me.  Do I now need to invite everyone who will attend the shower?

Re: Shower with Coworkers

  • I could never shower with my co-workers!  I think they'd get the wrong idea.  And that would make it awkward afterwards.

  • Haha mandy I had the same thought when I first read the subject.

But, OP- this is the exception to the rule. If your coworkers want to throw a bridal shower for you, that's just fine - and you don't have to invite them to the wedding.

  • I think work showers are the exception to the pre-wedding party without being invited to the actual wedding/reception. Co-workers do not expect to be invited, but often are happy for you and would like to celebrate in a small way with you can acknowledge this happy time in your life.

Since the invites are basically already out, I think I would decline the shower. But if she insists, then let them.
  • mandy you made me laugh out loud, and i'm at work!  darn it.

Haha, exactly what I thought.  It made me giggle.  I have an inappropriate mind...:-)

OP - I agree with the pp that said this is the exception to the rule.
