What really grinds your gears?

Here are a few of mine: -people who instantly and unnecessarily call "MUD!!!!" on a post just to seem cool. -people who talk on their cell phones while checking out at a grocery -anything Ed Hardy Now you go!

oh the list is long young grasshopper.

Really, it depends on the day and my mood.  People yapping their gums on TV just to yap their gums are irritating me at the moment.  I can't wait until I get a channel other than CNN and or BBCNews.

  • People who come into my office, open my desk drawer, take what they need and don't say a word to me.

    People who are always late.

People who think they have talent when they rap about, gun, money, drugs and bitchess

People who take their time crossing the street when I have a green light
  • When my H and friend make a point to sign into G-mail chat but then make their light red, which means basically do not disturb.  It's so assaulting to my eyes when I'm on G-mail.  If you don't want to chat, just don't sign in!  Instead I have to see your red light which is like DO NOT CONTACT ME!!  Geesh!

    I hate that.

mystery posters on here who have appeared out of nowhere (with no post count) to give us a talking to about our poor attitudes. I know for a fact its the OP who is butthurt and created another SN to defend themselves as another person.
  • - the phrase grinds your/my gears.

But seriously, I'm getting really annoyed that the travel agent person I emailed last week to help plan our UK trip has yet to acknowledge my email. I filled out the form on their website with basic info, she replied and asked for more details. I e-mailed her back on Wednesday with all the details, and I've heard nothing since then.  I don't expect her to have an itinerary or quote or anything set for me yet, but I would have appreciated something before the weekend saying "Thanks, I'm working on it and I'll get back to you!"

  • -Slow walkers in the city who walk in the middle of the sidewalk.  Same rules as the road, friend.

-People who have to shout/name call/ or get snippy when trying to give their opinion.  If you really think your point is correct then you shouldn't have to beat down other people to convince them.

-Cheap tippers.  Is giving an extra dollar or two really going to kill you?

People who talk with food in their mouth and people who chew with their mouths open.

Also people who think they are entitled to things, like just because you've worked here once as a supervisor does not give you the right to come in and take our supplies whenever you need them.

edit: And people who pull out infront of you like they are in some kind of emergency and then drive below the speed limit, seriously if you are in such a hurry that you need to cut me off then step on it!

  • People who still have not gotten back to us for our RSVP, 5 days after the fact. You got your STD in December and you got your invitation in March. Is it that hard to reply to a phone call, email, facebook message to let us know if you are coming? And one of these people is our Pastor.... he is making me nervous by not answering my emails and phone calls.

-People who go "invisible" but then still chat with you.  I think that's a lame game to play.  I don't appreciate us only talking on your terms and then I can't talk to you when I want.

  • -When people don't wipe down their machines at the gym.

    - People who step inside the metro/subway and just stop at the door. There are people behind you! Move it!
  • People who aren't spacially aware, including but not limited to people who walk slowly or stop in the middle of sidewalks, grocery store aisles, drive like they're the only person on the road, and shuffle slowly across the street, like PP said, when I have a green light.

Coworkers who I know live 5 minutes from work and still saunter in 15 minutes late, after I've been sitting in craptastic traffic for over an hour trying to get there on time.

    Telemarketers.

OH another thing that grinds my gear?! That fedex has sent my shoes on a freaking wild goose chase. They had to go from New York NY to somewhere close to Niagara Falls... They went here instead:

Niagara Falls is not even 1/6th of that distance away from New York so WTF has it had to travel that far just to get into canada?!
  • People who sit next to me on the train and eat. First of all, the train is the filthiest place you could eat anything. It's equivalent to eating in a dirty bathroom. I can't stand listening to people eat right next to me if it's an odd place to eat. The worst are the people with the yogurts. Stop scraping the bottom of the yogurt. It's over, move on.

And people who snap and crack their gum and chew it like a cow. Drives me insane.

  • Men with long fingernails and people who speed in parking lots

By the way- what does "MUD" even mean?

Yeah, my H does that too.  I teased him about it, and now he does the red light thing, which is worse in my opinion.  I'd rather think he's not there than know he's there and doesn't want to chat.

  • Also grinding my gears, the old Knot terms like beebee and MUD.  No one even says that anymore and all of a sudden it pops back up and for some reason, just annoys me.

  • People who are late.  My H is one of those people with NO concept for time.

People who care about off-boards at all.  Hell, people who care enough about off-boards existing that they post links to them on here.

People who deny being on an offboard.  It's ok.  really.  It's not like you're a member of a cult, unless your offboard is worshipping a grilled cheese and planning to off yourselves by simultaneously stabbing yourselves repeatedly with a sharpened letter opener shaped like a carrot.

People who get angry in traffic.  I'm pretty sure that yelling, gesturing madly, honking your horn, throwing things at other cars, tailgating and cutting people off dangerously is NOT going to get any of us to our destinations faster.  Perhaps it's time to listen to the classical station in your car.  It's very calming and may prevent early heart attack and stroke.

People in hotels who don't understand that there are people behind all those doors with numbers on them.  And that I don't want to hear about mushrooms and your interview at 9am the next morning.  Particularly at 3am.  Although, I will admit that I don't think you're making the best life choices if you're taking 'shrooms 6 hours before an interview.  Unless I misunderstood and your interview is at the mushroom farm.  In which case... carry on.

  • People who ask me if I'm doing certain things, like planning on bleaching my teeth. I hadn't really thought about it, but now I'm self conscious that my teeth are yellow and haggard and apparently need to be bleached to have a successful marriage.

Also, the fact that my advocate for my senior show won't effing call me back. The show is in 4 weeks lady, I need answers!

  • Right now, the fact that 4 of the 7 first round playoff games my team is playing are not being shown on US television (only CBC, apparently). WTF. My team is a US team who is playing another US team. I want to watch them!

Now, if I can stream Hockey Night in Canada on my computer... well, then that will just make my entire month.
