AW: The Amazing Race

I just found out today that 2 of my friends and triathlon training buddies made it onto the Amazing Race. The new season starts in February. If you watch it, please root for Jody and Shannon. They are amazing women: http://www.cbs.com/primetime/amazing_race/bio/jody_and_shannon_16/bio.php?season=16

That is all!

I am so jealous!!!  That show is great and I would love to go on.  I'd have to have a partner who could eat gross things, though, because that is something I don't think I could do.  But it looks like an amazing experience and a chance to see some really awesome places you wouldn't otherwise get to see.

Ooo I love the Amazing Race.  Jody is 71?  Wow!

Yes, she is a fiesty old lady. She did her first triathlon at age 69, and her first olympic distance at age 71. I want to be just like her when I grow up, and I tell her that all the time.

That's awesome!  DH and I sent in an application tape many years ago, but we weren't chosen :(

I don't think we could do it together now - I think we would kill each other.
Holy Crap. We survived the first year!

FI would eat the gross stuff. Soon after we met he said, "So, I know you're a vegetarian, but would you eat insects?" Uh, I wouldn't eat insects even if I wasn't a vegetarian. He asked because there's this crazy restaurant in LA that had insect food, like roasted grasshoppers. He's curious about it.
