My FSIL is throwing a bridal shower for me. I came up with a guest list and addresses for her after she asked me to. A few days ago she came to me and suggested some other people I might want to add to the list. For example a mother and daughter that has lived in FI's family's neighborhood since he was a little boy. They are family friends. However, I have only met them a handful of times. FSIL says it's better that these people are invited and choose not to come, then to not invite them at all. I feel a little weird inviting people I have only met a few times. I think it looks a little gift grabby, but she disagrees. Is it appropriate to invite people that FI has been close to even though I'm not? I'm not really sure how this works.
