How many favors is customary to give, I'm planning on 2.

    Um, one. But unless it's edible I really wouldn't bother. Cup cozies, match books, candles, etc just go in the garbage after a few days in our house.

    You don't need to give out any favors to properly host your guests.  If you want to do favors, I agree with PP that edible is preferred.

    If it's something small like mints or cookies or something, one favor per person (could be several mints, 2 cookies, whatever). If it's something larger or non-edible, you can do one per person or one per couple.
