Work Invitations

I currently work for a mid-sized private company where we are all very tight-knit and very family oriented. When news spread that I was engaged, I was approached with congratulations & squeals of excitement followed by "I can't wait for your wedding!"

Unfortunately, I already know that I will not be able to invite everyone that I want from work as my venue maxes out at a certain # and my fiance has a large family. I'm not sure if I should just not say anything, and send out invitations to the co-workers that I AM inviting, or let my other co-workers know that I'd LOVE for them to be there, but that I just did not have the room.

How do I un-invite people to my wedding - who I never invited in the first place, but have already assumed that they are invited - without hurting their feelings?
