Oh mother...

I love my mother and think that she gives great advice 90% of the time. The other 10% all seems wedding related.

"Oh you can invite people to the shower but not the wedding."
"Bouquet tosses are fun even if there are only one or two single girls out of a hundred guests."
"Why don't you make your bridesmaids make those favors and all of the invites?"

Anyone else run into this? I love her, but it makes me shudder to think about what her wedding looked like...

Mine told me that no one would dance during the middle of the day.  .she was VERY wrong

My favorites so far invove what she thinks the bridesmaids should be doing. I am lying to her and telling her that they are doing all kinds of stuff I would never dream of asking them. I still want them to be my friends after the wedding.

My MIL suggested putting "boxed gifts only" on the invitation. To be fair, this is very common in her culture... but no, I was having none of that.
