I'm not too sure which category this falls under but hopefully this is ok! Both my and Fi's grandmothers passed away 5 years ago and we both still miss our grandmas terribly and wish they could be included in our wedding. Anyway after some thought we came up with the idea of instead of having favours (that seem to be a bit of a waste of money in my opinion) we would have a wee card on each table stating that a donation would be made to the hospice (where our grandmothers died and subsequently a charity which we are both very passionate about) in honour of the day. Does anyone think this is a bit gauche? Is this an inappropriate substitute?
