WElcome with Out of Town Bags!!!!!!

Stupid question...
DOES each Guest get one?
or EACH room/couple get one?

THANKS

Re: WElcome with Out of Town Bags!!!!!!

  • It's up to you. Most often, I believe it is one per room. I would probably go case by case. A family of four? One bag. Two couples splitting a room? Two bags.

[QUOTE]I'm sorry, but is this REALLY the third post about this TODAY????

Yup. Some Knot email must have gone out promoting this idea and shoving it down brides' throats or something.

I think they are nice. Don't get me wrong. But I PROBABLY am not doing them, because I have a million other things I want to do for my guests. Bottled water is not at the top of that list right now.
  • We had two bottles of water in each bag plus snacks, so we did one per two people.  That meant one for a couple, one for two friends staying in one room, and two for a family of 4 staying in one room.
  • We did one per room.   Although we did have  3 singles share a room, so I just gave them 2 bags.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • You might want to check with the hotel- ours will only distribute one per room and they are handing it to the guests at check-in. We are not allowed to place anything in the rooms ahead of time. Also, our hotel requires each bag to be exactly the same so they can just grab one as each guest checks in. FI really wanted to put something in each of his college buddies' bags that wouldn't necessarily go over well in my Aunt's bag, but the rules won't allow that.
Just something to keep in mind!

<div>I think you're right. At least this one does ask a slightly different question. </div>
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

<div>Except the OP posted it <strong>four</strong> times.... (and I might point out that this is the only post she has.)</div>
  • One thing to keep in mind if any of you decide to do these-make sure your hotel doesn't charge to give them out.  I considered doing it but changed my mind when I found out that the hotel charges to give them to our guests.  I want to say it was $3 per bag.
