thank you cards??

My first question: my bridal shower was last night and the wedding is on Saturday. Should I wait until after the wedding and write each person one thank you card for both the shower and wedding gifts, or write one for the shower gift and then another for the wedding gift? Keep in mind I have 3 days until the wedding so thank you's for just the shower gift still won't get done until next week.

Second question: I work in a very small company (9 people) who decided to have a little party today (my last day of work before the wedding). They got me a cake and contributed to a gift card, which was SO NICE because I haven't worked here long at all. I'm wondering how I could write thank you cards, not knowing who contributed what. Is it okay with such a small company to write a collective thank you card to put somewhere they will all see it? Or maybe even just an email?

Thanks!

Re: thank you cards??

  • 1. you should do separate thank yous.  however, i wouldnt necessarily be offended if i got a joint thank you.  in this day and age, i'm just grateful to receive any acknowledgement of my generosity/kind act.

    2.  i did a group one for my work place.
  • I would write seperate thank you cards for the shower and the wedding.  And I would write individual thank you cards for each of your co-workers.

I'd write one thank you for the shower and one for the wedding.

For the co-workers, I'd do one collective one, either via email or an envelope that gets passed around. I personally think one per person in that scenario is way overkill, and I've never seen it done that like at anyplace I've worked.

ETA: If you know who organized the work shower, I would do one special one to that person in addition to the group one.
  • Thanks everyone! I actually got started on the bridal shower thank you's and they were really easy. As for work, I agree on per person will be overkill just because I really don't know any of them well. I think I'll do an email. I appreciate your thoughts!!
