We're not planning on giving plus ones to our single guests. However, I am inviting a lady from work who is a widow and I would like to give her a plus one to bring a friend because I am only inviting a handful of people from work and they will all be coming with spouses. Unlike the single friends, she won't know anyone else there. Would it be rude to extend a plus one to this person only and not other single guests? My thinking on it is that the other single people there won't know her or any of my work guests (who will be seated at the same table) and wouldn't figure out that the additional person is a plus one.
Along the same lines...I have one bridesmaid that is single and coming from out of town and I would like to give her the option to bring a guest (though I don't think she will).
Would it be rude to extend just those two plus ones?
