Food: Would You Rather...

Edit: I posted the poll before I could finish the post!

Have brunch or lunch at following an 11 o'clock wedding?

Brunch would have an omelette station, assorted pastries and muffins, a belgian waffle station, sausage, bacon, assorted juices, and cupcakes.

Lunch would have a chilps & salsa bar, pulled pork sandwiches, veggie plate, fruit kabobs, mac n cheese, spinach salad w/ strawberries, coleslaw, pit beans, assorted tea and lemonade, and cupcakes.

Re: Food: Would You Rather...

  • I voted brunch, but really - I'd prefer a few lunch-y options thrown in.  Like, skip the pastries and add sandwiches and maybe that spinach & strawberry salad?

  • I voted brunch, but what you're describing is all breakfasty type foods.  I'd suggest putting in one or two lunch type items like squirrley said.

I voted BBQ because I love it, but also because IMO brunch should include lunch foods.

ETA: I may also be biased because my reception started at about 11:00 and we served lunch.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

  • Brunch!
    Breakfast is my favorite though.

    Both? :)

I chose BBQ because I think I'd be in the mood for lunch foods around that time, but you really can't go wrong with either. They both sound great!

  • BBQ! I love breakfast food, but for some reason I only like it in the morning or at night. I just think after an 11 am wedding that pulled pork would be divine. Also I love fruit kabobs any time of day.

  • Both.  Give limited breakfast AND lunch options.

RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.
You made my wedding day complete.
  • Ditto pp. Brunch, but more lunch and less breakfast.
  • Ditto. More lunch stuff. What beverages are you planning?
  • Sara, our venue doesn't allow alcohol (boo) so either juice for brunch stuff, or for bbq, lemonade, strawberry lemonade, mint tea, sweet tea, and limeade.
  • I love breakfast any time of the day!  It's my favorite!

  • oh god brunch. though the lunch choices sound good too.
  • I say BBQ because around that time I'd be craving lunch.
  • As an ex-Memphian, I vote for pulled pork all the time!
  • I vote brunch with some lighter lunch options (salmon, pasta, fresh fruit, etc), but please, whatever you do, do not serve food that is eaten with your hands at your wedding! No guest wants to eat a messy sandwich or chips and salsa while dressed in nice clothes, not to mention you, the bride, in a white gown! Yikes!!
  • brunch! that's too early for me to be craving pulled pork. and one of the best weddings i've ever attended had an omelette station...mmm...
