  • I would expect a scan of some sort or by injecting some kind of dye into the blood and watching it spread.  Which I guess would also be done with a scan.  Sorry, my medical knowledge is pretty much limited to ER and House.

Cerebral angiograms. Had one, you have to be horizontal for about 8 hours. take my advice, and DON'T have a double espresso beforehand. WTF is up?

Edit: they may also do an MRI with and without the radioactive dye. Again, I ask WTF is going on?

You just get right back here, missy, and explain yourself. You are NOT going to brush this off with a "nevermind."
  • Are you ok Rach?

  • Sorry had to peel potatoes and prepare my rosemary chicken.

Yes. I am okay. My Grandmother died of one when my mom was 13 ans now my aunt might have one. My mom is going to go get checked for one (she is at a higer risk b/c she smokes) and my mom wanted me to google what type of test they gave to detect it. She is kind of scaring me.

  • High blood pressure,  or fluctuating blood pressure with high spikes,  is a common contributing factor,  more of a predictor than general heredity.

Often when they test due to a family history, they check the aorta and  follow central arteries down to the femoral (leg) arteries.

Unlike brain aneurysms, they are far more common,  more detectable,  and more successfully repaired.
  • I hope your mum gets the all clear, Ricks!
