I would expect a scan of some sort or by injecting some kind of dye into the blood and watching it spread.  Which I guess would also be done with a scan.  Sorry, my medical knowledge is pretty much limited to ER and House.

Cerebral angiograms. Had one, you have to be horizontal for about 8 hours. take my advice, and DON'T have a double espresso beforehand. WTF is up?

Edit: they may also do an MRI with and without the radioactive dye. Again, I ask WTF is going on?

Sorry had to peel potatoes and prepare my rosemary chicken.

Yes. I am okay. My Grandmother died of one when my mom was 13 ans now my aunt might have one. My mom is going to go get checked for one (she is at a higer risk b/c she smokes) and my mom wanted me to google what type of test they gave to detect it. She is kind of scaring me.

High blood pressure,  or fluctuating blood pressure with high spikes,  is a common contributing factor,  more of a predictor than general heredity.

Often when they test due to a family history, they check the aorta and  follow central arteries down to the femoral (leg) arteries.

Unlike brain aneurysms, they are far more common,  more detectable,  and more successfully repaired.
