Weight Loss in Manhattan?

Any NYC brides want to share weight loss tips and motivation?  I have lost 20 pounds so far, but still have 30 pounds to lose so I am not as my future mother in law said "a fat bride".  I have been doing weight watchers and walking daily in SmartSole insoles (fabulous for toning and extra calorie burn and I just found out that they are on sale at Duane Reade!!).  Does anyone have any motivating stories to share.  I bought my dress already and HAVE to lose weight or I will be walking down the aisle in my bathrobe.

I'll be jumping on the weight loss train perhaps next week so I have nothing to share yet. I'm having a lot of trouble getting started, but my wedding is still 10 months away. when is yours?
ps, your MIL sounds like a peach.

I've been doing my weight loss from before I got engaged- no 'solid' bride for me! I've lost 30 so far but i'm looking to lose about another 30. I am so wiling to jump on this weight loss train.

PS- I think my MIL is sticking butter in my food, really.

Hi, I am not losing anymore weight. I lost about 40 lbs, but I'm working hard to maintain and be healthy. I lost my weight through smart eating and working out. I'd love to connect with people who are trying to be healthy.

It's all about portion control and maintaining a healthy diet and exercise program. You also need to leave enough time. Don't expect the weight to come off right away. It's takes a lot of time and hard work! Keep up the good work. You can do it!

Hi ladies, I am not looking to loose weight as much as tone and stay in shape, but if any of you would like to work out together, go to fitness class, I'm open and live in UWS. Send me a PM if interested.

I've been seeing a nutritionist who has been providing me with weekly meal plans.  To sum it up you need to eat small meals throughout the day approx every 2 hours (for example, english muffin for breakfast around 7 then at 9:30 have an apple, at 12 you have a small lunch, then at 2 you have about an ounce of pretzels), I've been seeing her for just over a month and have lost almost 6lbs and many inches (she measures you around your waist, hips and thighs weekly as well) and I'm actually eating way more than usual.  The nutritionist is on staten island but you can purchase her meal plans online though I'd recommend actually going there for an initial consultation. I've tried many things over the past few years and though I am moderately physically active (running at least 3 times a week and kickboxing) I was somehow gaining weight. This is the first thing I've tried that worked.  My advice to you is portion control and small frequent meals (and 1 day a week have a cheat day) and don't listen to anyone's negative comments - as long as you're happy with yourself and you're healthy, forget them.
