We will only have 35 guests for our wedding, should i use table numbers or should I just use place cards for each guests at the tables?

Are you having meal choices? 
Your venue may want a distinction between meal choices and you would need to do place cards.

You can just assign people tables and make a list, or if you choose not to assign seats at all make sure that you have extra chairs and tables that way guests don't have to split from those that they came with.

Listen to Crash.  With 35 people I wouldn't think assigned tables isn't necessary if you don't want to do that, but do make sure you have some extra seats so the family of 3 isn't stuck splitting into 2 and 1 to fit at the only open spots at the tables.

I'm a placecard person.

We had 220 people at our wedding. I did place cards because we had a lot of tables where peopel wouldn't know each other, and I wanted to sit them by someone they had something in common with.

Nobody complained, and anyone who didn't want to sit in that exact spot just switched, which I didn't notice or care. 

I also happen to like when you go to a wedding with placecards, because you know who you're giong to sit with.
