Dollar Dance for Charity

It looks like most people think dollar dances are tacky.  Does the same go for a dollar dance if all of the money will be donated to a local charity?

    I don't understand why people think its ok to use their wedding as a fundraiser.  Regardless of the reason for doing this, it goes against etiqutte and really shouldn't be done.  I'd feel so awkward at a wedding where this happened.

    I'm curious to know who made all this etiquette. I think everyone is too upity. I know the people I know would think that was neat. i guess it all depends on who you are inviting and what they would think. I never thought the dollar dance was tacky and for charity is even cooler. Spending a small fortune (20,000+) is in good taste but giving back to the world is as tacky as it gets.  Sad day!

    I've never been to a wedding that didn't have a dollar dance. I don't think it's tacky.
