Readings

Hey Everyone,

Before coming on the knot I was told by my mom that stuff like "guest book attendent" and "program girl" were jobs that I should honor my friends and cousins with. I thought to myself, hmm I wouldn't want to be doing that at their weddings, but if thats how its done.. luckily I read on here that these are considered to be lame "jobs"

My question comes from that FI and I are getting married in a Catholic church. We started our marriage preparation with the priest and he asked us to consider 4 people that we are going to ask to do readings. FI and I are throwing out the idea of asking a friend of both of ours, my cousin and 2 of his cousins.

Is doing a reading a lame job? We could ask parents and the bridal party instead. But my FI was a confirmation sponsor for his 2 cousins, so we thought that this was a nice gesture. We agree we would be honored to do a reading at a wedding- we both used to read during high school mass- but this could just be us.

The readers should come to the rehearsal (according to the priest) and we would have them to the rehearsal dinner,
