What to do about coworkers/bosses?

I work in a very large medical practice with about 30+ staff.  We have 5 doctors.  I am only inviting 1 coworker because she and I are good friends outside of work but I dont know what to do about the doctors.  I am very close to 1 and would like to only invite him and his wife but don't know if that would be ok?  I actually would be ok with inviting 4 out of 5 of them except the 1 I dont want to invite is the owner of the practice ( her husband is the CEO and it's him I really hate!) so I know I can't do that but would it be totally unacceptable to invite the one I am really close to and not the others?  Thanks!

I would invite the co-workers that I was close with, but tell them to keep it hush hush at work.
