What's on your Christmas list?

This is going to be a P&R for now, but people are starting to ask me what I want for Christmas and I have no idea. What's on your "want list" this year?

Re: What's on your Christmas list?

  • No, we didn't. We're pretty close to completing one of them since we a had a lot of gift cards and the store had a "spend $50 get a $20 coupon" and they can be stacked so as of December 1 we'll have that one almost all done. I have told people that GCs to the other store would be great (especially since with the discount they'll go further then if they buy us something), but there are some people in my family that want a list of physical things.

  • I'm looking to get an 8 quart crockpot.  H probably won't buy it for me as he sees it as not a gift, since I would use it to cook with.  I tried to explain that I like cooking and I would be excited to get one!  So we will see.
  • My mom is currently visiting, and I'm not going home for the holidays this year, so she decided she wanted to buy me a gift sans shipping fees. She got me the Clairisonic Mia, and I looooove it so far.

I think FI and I will probably buy each other massages or something.

  • My FH's family does a secret Santa gift exchange with his aunts, uncles, cousins and there are two categories--make or buy. I'm in the make group and asked for things for our home like shelves, wine rack, curtains. For my FMIL and FSIL, I asked for wine glasses, wine rack, Packer Jersey(gave a list of players I love), Keurig Vue K-Cups and a holder for the cups. My parents got us a Keurig Vue for Christmas, which is awesome but it is hard to find the Vue K-Cups(only been able to find them at Target or online).

  • DH told his parents we would like an electric fireplace, as our living room gets insanely cold thanks to the original GIANT picture window that we can't afford to have replaced yet. I think H and I are getting each other tattoos, though he's also hinted at getting me an iPad and/or the handgun that I've been eyeing. Otherwise, I don't have much. There's a few odds and ends on our registry yet, but nothing that I was super bummed not to have received for the wedding.

[QUOTE]Edie, I want to get this, on top of my foot.  I really want it on my right foot, but I have a bit of scar tissue there, so it may have to go on the left. jcbsjr, I honestly see no reason to ever own an Ipad or tablet.  I can get a netbook for the same price that does more.  Between a laptop and an iPhone, there is no real reason to have an iPad for me.  So, I'll stick with a $70 Kindle over a $300 iPad, since the only thing I can't do easily on my phone is read books.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: What's on your Christmas list? : Thanks!  I wanted something involving a Claddagh and the Trinity Knot since our wedding, but it took a couple of years to find someone to give me the perfect design.  Now, I just have to wait for the money and my artist's schedule to coincide.  Every time I plan to do it, something major happens either financially with us or causing her to be out of town.  So, now it's on my Xmas list.

That's awesome! For my birthday FH gave me a Claddagh ring and he used that ring to design my e-ring. I want another tattoo but since I can't decide what to get, I keep putting it off and end up needing to use the money for something else major.

You said you have scar tissue on your right foot and probably can't get it done there, is there a reason? I've know people to have them cover scars but I guess never gave much thought about scar tissue vs superficial scars and it affecting the lasting effects of tattoos.

Not yet, it's still being made. He asked and than we went looking at rings and decided on custom making the ring. I didn't want an e-ring at first, he didn't want to buy a ring that I wouldn't absolutely love.

He picks it up in December. The jewelery store we went to is having "guys night" with drawing for prizes like hotel stays, free tux rentals, signed Packer gear, possibly tickets for a game, and lots of other things, both wedding and non-wedding. If he picks up the ring at that night, he gets his name in more prize drawings.

Thanks! I can't wait to see it done. My center stone is what I'm most excited for, it is a green diamond!

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: What's on your Christmas list? : It's harder to do an intricate design over it, because the skin doesn't usually take ink in a straight line if there is scarring (even superficially).  Also, with deep scarring, it can cause the ink to be rejected, leaving "holes" in the tat once it heals.  It just depends on the design and the severity of the scar.

That makes sense. I never really gave much thought to. I've seen tattoos bubble and just figure that  was scarring or a bad artist.

  • I keep my Christmas list in my phone in case anyone asks. I realize it's kinda tacky, but when people ask I hate not being prepared.
    -2 inch curling iron
-3 foot leather leash for mcfly
    -new tan purse
    -gift card for my kindle/amazon
-1000 picture album if one does exist

RE the Ipad/Kindle/tablet - I got a Kindle Fire for Christmas last year and it has been the best gift EVER. I can use it as a tablet, but more than anything, it's just so great for reading. H has an ipad, but he uses it for work a LOT so we get to write it off.
  • I want these and a Chi flat iron. :) oh and a kindle but i'm hoping i win one at work this year since they raffled 9 of em last year and 3 ipads.

  • I need a new flat iron - I'm asking for a baybliss one though because I'm sick of replacing my Chi every 6 - 8 months.

Other than that, I want a food saver, new perfume and earings.

  • A new coach purse and work out clothes! Those clothes are so damn expensive for something you're going to sweat in!

  • Peace on earth. It's what I ask for every Christmas and birthday.
  • I want FI to get a job, so we can start back on the wedding planning stuff.

This whole 'being a grownup about it' really sucks sometimes.
  • I have two big wants: a spin bike for the house and a new Coach bag. Don't know if I'll get either but if I get money for CHristmas, I might buy one for myself.

I also just love gift cards to places I like shopping. Maybe an iPod radio/docking station if I get my spin bike so I can listen to music without headphones while I work out.

  • As I'm currently planning my wedding for next Fall, I am struggling with this question as well. I haven't asked for anything yet but I am thinking about asking for wedding stuff. Jewelry? Decor? Mary Kay? It would be awkward because ideally I wouldn't use it until the wedding.
