How long before the wedding date is it appropriate to send out Save-the-Dates?

Usually 9-12 months, depending.  We sent ours out between 9-10 months prior to the wedding date because it is out of country for my side and it's a holiday weekend up here, for the Canadian portion of things.

Destinations, travel, and/or holidays beg for a little more time to make arragements.

We sent ours out nine months ahead of time because our wedding was on a holiday weekend.  If we'd been having it on a normal weekend we would have skipped them altogether.

I sent mine at 7 months, Lots of OOT guests. I think once you get down to the 5 month mark, it's probably too late.

We're shooting to send ours out about eight months in advance.

We are looking to send ours out a little under a year out because all of our guest will be OOT or out of state. We want to give them lots of notice and time to book a hotel. We are also getting married on a holiday weekend so we want the extra notice for that reason as well.

went sent ours out last week. So 7 months? I just wanted to get them out there so the guest list could be done!! haha
