    Either invite them to all or nothing.  Don't invite them to the ceremony but not the reception, that's crazy rude.  Also, his suggestion of having a fake ceremony just for him is fuucking ridiculous.  
    At the end of the day, do you want your father there?  You sound indecisive on that.

    Invite them all. If you say that they are ok with not being invited at all then they should be fine with your grandpa walking you down. They are adults and should be able to act like it.

    Yeah, it's extremely rude to invite people to the ceremony but not the reception.  The reception is the thank you to your guests for attending your ceremony.  It needs to be all or nothing.
