Tipping question for Hair & MU Trial

I have my hair and make up trial this weekend. My stylist has been doing my hair for four years and is not charging me for the trial, but I was wondering what if any I should tip her for the trial?

As a general rule I always tip based on what the service would have cost, not what they did cost.  

My good friend does my hair and charges me the cost of a hair cut every time I go, even though I get all over highlights and a cut/style.  I tip her $40 even though my bill is only $20 b/c that's what she would have earned had she charged me full price.

I was charged the same thing for the trial that it will cost me on the day of.  I tipped about 12%.

If you know how much it's going to cost the day of the wedding, then I would tip at your normal rate for that ammount for the trial, and again on the day of wedding.
