Cruise ship rescues an aquintence's dog

This guy (J)  I know in St John lives on the beach right next to the Westin Resort. He owns a chocolate lab.   At midnight on NY fireworks went off at the Westin.  The dog freaked out and took off.  J spent the whole night looking all over the island for the dog.

J told a friend that the dog is missing and keep and eye out for him.   A few minutes later the friend called and said the dog was at the dock.   Apparently passengers on a cruise ship noticed the dog swimming about 3 miles off the coast of St John.  The crew rescued the dog and brought him to St John, where he was identified as J's dog.

It's now believed when the dog heard the fireworks it just took off in the water.  Poor guy had to have been swimming for some 8 hours.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
