Please pray for co-workers' families in Haiti

Sadly, I actually received a breaking news alert that indirectly effected me.

Quite a few of my co-workers, including 5 that work for DH have families in Haiti.  One of those ladies' daughter just had a baby yesterday in the hospital that collapsed.

Please pray that all of their families make it through this disaster.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

  • That is so sad. I hope they are safe.

  • I hope that they are all safe and that your coworkers hear from their family members soon. I can't imagine how they must be feeling. A very close family-friend of DH's (he spoke at our wedding) is Haitian and he has been in my thoughts too. I hope that he is alright as well.

  • The couple who's wedding we went to on Saturday are both from Haiti also.  So many woman were collapsing when they heard the news. Of course with Haiti being so poor it's been hard to get through to find out if people are alright or not.

  • aMrsin09....  It was a 7.3 about 14 miles from Port-au-Prince.   There are Tsunami warning out, but I do not think there will be a wave heading, thank god.

  • I heard on the news that there have been quite a lot of strong aftershocks as well. What an awful thing to happen to that area. I know how hard they get hit by hurricanes (and due to their economy it exacerbates the situation). In my thoughts.
  • Holy crap Lynda.  I was there when I was younger and even then it didn't look like Port-A-Prince could withstand a 7.3.

  • Poor Haiti.  How much more can that country take?  So sorry for your co-workers :(
  • My co-workers parents are in Haiti.  Definitely thinking about them tonight :(

  • aMrsin09....   I have never been there.  But I've seen enough pictures and heard enough stories from co-workers to know this is not going end well.

I feel bad for everyone.  But I feel the worse right now for the woman who's grandchild was born yesterday.  We know the hospital has collapsed and they are most likely in there..
